Mert’s: A Soulful Dining Experience!

Hey Glammies: We had media meetings, along with some filming for an upcoming event yesturday and today in BEAUTIFUL downtown Charlotte North Carolina…There were quite a few highlights of this trip. One of which was MERT’S HEART & SOUL RESTAURANT!!!! It was HIGHLY recommended by our driver Jason, who excitedly made our reservation for us!!!
BABY, we are SOOOOOO GLAD HE DID!!!! It was “off the charts” DELICIOUS!!!!

There was a warm friendly hospitality and feel to this Soul Food restaurant situated in a very upscale area of downtown Charlotte on Collage Ave. about 3 blocks from the Convention Center.

The AMAZING menu had such “down home” favorites as Beef Ribs, Catfish, and “SPECIAL” Batter Dipped Shrimp!!!
The delectable sides were Baked Mac & Cheese, The BEST candied yams I EVER had…and a “CAKE BAR”!!!!!!!!

Amber LOVED the Beef Ribs…so tender and flavorful!!!

A Special Report: LEGENDS at JOE FRAZIER’S FUNERAL

Hey Glammies, Everyone knows our blog is Girly and Fun, but today, I decided to do something a little different. We’re going to stay in the background on this one, and honor the men.
There were TONS of reporters in Philadelphia at ENON TABERNACLE CHURCH…trying to catch a shot of The Boxing Legends in attendance…
However, I went to the Funeral services with my husband to simply pay my respects…
Pastor Glenn Dawson, was DEVASTATED when he heard the news last week that his mentor was gone! He was a student of Joe Fraziers and part of the JOE FRAZIER STABLE of Boxers throughout the entire 80′s.
Boxing is a BIG DEAL in my family as my cousin CHAD DAWSON has become the champ defeating Bernard Hopkins last month…my son Josh, whom you all have gotten to know, attended Floyd Mayweather’s Youth Boxing Camp for 2 years straight.
This post serves as a TRIBUTE to SMOKIN’ JOE FRAZIER…and is offered as a gift to my husband Pastor Glenn Dawson.
